Today I had a long overdue date with my best friend and after working up an appetite with all the shopping, we decided on visiting Jamie’s Italian for some lunch. After perusing the menu outside and realising we were practically salivating we headed inside and asked for a table for 2. A friendly waitress took us to our seats and informed us someone would be over shortly to take our orders. It all sounded so good it took me a while to make my desicion but there was no hesitation on my drink choice. I fancies something refreshing so what better than a non-alcoholic cocktail aptly named The Refresher. A cool blend of elderflower, lime and strawberry with soda water – a perfect start to what else was to come. Bearing in mind that we were just having lunch, we went straight to ordering a main course. I finally made my desicion and opted for the Meat Platter and a side of Funky Chips; triple cooked with rosemary and garlic. If looks could kill eh? It tasted as good as it looked. The waiter was eager to talk me through my variety of meets and cheeses and knew his stuff, needless to say, I was impressed. The platter consisted of: Crispy Kale Slaw – to be used as a sort of pallette cleanser between the different options. This was divine. I’d always steered clear of kale when doing the supermarket […]
I just love, love, love this stuff! The branding, the products, the names of the items, the colour , and the smell. I can’t help myself buying Soap & Glory when I go shopping especially this little number. I love the waterproof bag, it will be perfect when I travel. Not only is the wash bag cute and pink, it also contains 5 miniature products. Clean On Me Shower Gel – smells divine, people always comment on my scent after I’ve used this after a shower. It leaves the skin feeling silky smooth too. Scrub Of Your Life Body Butter – again it smells beautiful but is perfect for exfoliation before moisturising. It foams up so it really cleanses the pores. The Righteous Butter Body Moisturiser – I think I own about 6 pots of this stuff! I use it everyday. Iit really helps to keep the skin moisturised and glowing. Hand Food Hydrating Hand Cream – I have this in my bag at all times. It’s excellent to use when it’s cold outside to stop your hands from being dry. Heel Genius Foot Cream – a treat for the feet after a long day in the office wearing heels. Keeps hard skin at bay and nasty smells away! Included is also a Soap & Glory pouffe which is brilliant to use with the Clean On Me Shower Cream as it lathers it up and helps massage it over your skin. […]
So it’s been a week since I started using Lancôme Paris Gelatais Doucher Cleanse & Tone Duo and I’m having mixed feeling about it so far. There is still quite a lot left in the bottles so it’s good to see that you get your money’s worth out of these products. Over the past 7 weeks, although I have noticed, as well as the Mr, that my face feels a lot smoother. It is so much softer than it usually is. My nose has always suffered from blackheads and from being oily but I feel that this is starting to become less noticeable already. There has been one downside but I don’t want to blame it completly on the product at the moment, I seemed to have had a couple of ‘breakout’ spots on my chin and cheeks since using these. I have just gotten over a cold so it could be the aftermath of that but I will let you know in next weeks update. So far I’m happy with the products as there is definitely a difference in the way my skin feels, I’m not sure if there is a difference in the way it looks yet though. What do you think? 🙂 Thanks for reading, be sure to check back next week!
heaven, as the final abode of the righteous. a place of extreme beauty, delight, or happiness. a state of supreme happiness; bliss. If I wrote the dictionary, I’d only need one word for the meaning of paradise. Thailand. Last year I was lucky enough to be able to take 16 days out of my busy work schedule to enjoy a “relaxing” holiday in some of the most beautiful areas of Thailand. I’m not a good flyer, earlier this year I had a bad flight which I was adamant had put me off for life. I’d never been so frightened, then to find out I’d have to endure 7 flights in just over 2 weeks, I was a little wary. So, two 6 1/2 hour flights later, with a quick connection in Dubai, we had arrived at our first destination. Bangkok. It was hot, humid and hectic to say the least. Bangkok is a very busy place! After queuing for a taxi, we were taken to our hotel only to return back to the airport we had just left in 11 hours time. We were staying at the Amari Boulevard, trip advisor link here. If I’m honest, I’m glad it was just for one night. After a much needed shower and getting ready for some well deserved food, we decided to hit the streets of Bangkok in search for some authentic grub. After an hour or so of walking around all […]
After speaking with a colleague at work and finding out she is turning 40 this year, I was stunned. Literally to the point where I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. “No way are you 40?!” I said. “What’s you secret?” I asked. She told me that her mum taught her to cleanse, tone and moisturise from the age of 7 and she swears by it. So I decided to treat myself thinking if I start now and even look half as good as she does at 40 it would be worth it. I bought a duo set by Lancôme Paris – Galateis Douceur and Tonique Douceur, it was on offer at £28. Today is the first day I have started to use the products and I wanted to review on a weekly basis until I have finished the bottles. After reading the instructions on the bottle, I got set up ready to apply after a shower. I get my cotton pads from home bargains, they are around £1.50 for 200 in a big bag. I used the cleanser first (obviously!) and felt it was so easy to apply. The consistency was thick yet runny enough to ensure an even layer across my face even with such a small amount. It also smells really fresh and clean. Next, the toner. I wasn’t sure if this was meant to have a slight sting but I imagine that is […]
Today I tasked myself with making an alternative dinner to a typical Sunday roast and decided on Ham Hock & Brie Parcels, accompanied with sweet potato fries. Not only does it look like a lot more effort has gone in, it also tastes like a restaurant quality meal 🙂 What you will need: 400g cooked ham, shredded 1 onion, sliced […]
