It’s been a little while since I posted a wedding update on my blog which can only mean one thing, lots to update you on! I can’t believe that in just over 8 months time, I’ll be a wife!
So, what’s been crack-a-lackin’ on the wedding front? Quite a lot actually!
Ben and I met our wedding photographer in June for a bit of a pre-wedding shoot to both get to know James and also to feel comfortable in front of the camera and see what works best for us. He was so lovely and clearly has a talent for photography. I was so pleased with the photos he managed to capture in just an hour and I now cannot wait to see the photos of our big day already. For anyone interested, you can browse his work here.
We have finally decided on THE right colour pink (it’s called Flamingo!) and I’ve found bridesmaid dresses to match too! Hooray! I’ve decided on a chiffon maxi dress with a neckline and some pleat detail to the front, so I’m looking forward to those arriving for the girls to try on.
We have bought our wedding rings and they are due back in a couple of weeks. It was so weird seeing Ben try on rings and I think even after the wedding, it’s going to take some getting used to for both me and him!
The flowers are coming along nicely and has become the Mother-in-Law’s little project. I have to say, she has done a fantastic job so far from what I have seen. I am literally in love with the wreath she has created for the ceremony table.
This has freed up some of my time to focus on the finer details for the big day. I found these gorgeous little sachets of confetti in Dunelm. They are part of the beautiful Ginger Ray collection – of which I have been swooning over and may or may not have bought even more wedding related accessories since…
Had another bit of a hiccup though sadly. Before I was able to go to my bridal hair trial, someone had booked the specialist and paid up front for the same day as me so I was on the lookout for a new one and thankfully, the new hair salon I’ve been going to also has someone who specialises in Bridal hair! I’m going to book in for a trial after my dress fitting as 1) I can’t for the life of me remember what it looks like on and 2) I don’t know what I want in / on my hair / head that goes with my dress.
I took two of my bridesmaids to the venue for afternoon tea too for a catch up and they absolutely loved it. They thought it was stunning so that made me feel all warm and tingly. It was so lovely driving into it and seeing it all blooming and bright in the sunshine.
These cute little cardboard letters were from Hobbycraft for a couple of pounds each. My plan is to wrap them in this silver threaded twine and place them on top of our wedding cake.
There is just a whole heap of paying all the suppliers off happening now as I have pretty much nailed this wedding planning shizz and have it all under control I think!
Here is hoping it stays that way although next month might be a little short… I am still on the lookout for a few bits. Favours, bridal underwear and jewellery and a veil or a tiara… My dress is due back any day now which I will be elated about and devastated as I have to pay the rest of it off so Ill have to say goodbye to my social life in August already. On the plus side – I have been working super hard on my #BrideBod and it’s safe to say I will fit in the dress!
I picked up this stunning matte grey card box with rose gold Mr <3 Mrs detail from T K Maxx for around £7.
