Spring/Summer Seventeen Style | #inTUSpringStyle Event
As the sun begins to shine and the blossoms begin to bloom, we wave goodbye to monochrome, jewel tones and animal print at least until Autumn rolls back around. This means we welcome in pretty pastels, on trend embroidery and delightful designs. A new season also brings the fabulous inTU style shows and #SS17 did not disappoint.
With bold prints teamed with pretty pastels and contrasting colours against patterns, you can definitely go all out with your fashion this year for Spring and Summer. By the looks of it, anything goes as long as you have the confidence to pull it off.
For someone like me who very much sticks to white, black and grey with the odd flash of red, I feel a little out of my element but I’m going to brave the bold style and I’m going to start with this – my favourite piece of the fashion show – this gorgeous patterned skirt.
This seasons statement piece appears to be the watch. A timeless addition to any outfit adding a touch of class and sophistication. Perhaps you prefer something a little more on the bold side to tone down a smart look into more of a casual one – either way, watches are so in.
Finally the use of man bags is fast becoming a trend, I can’t tell you enough times when Mr C has asked to put his belongings in my tiny clutch bag despite having pockets. This Fred Perry holdall is perfect for the on-the-go male with places to be and people to see, plus it double up as a great luxury gym bag too for the fitness fanatics.
The lovely ladies at inTU gave us our own little challenge following the style shows to see how we would fare up shopping in the Victoria Centre this season. We picked a gift card from the bag with an attached idea on what to look out for this Spring/Summer; a variety of pretty in pink, nautical stripes, ruffles and reds right to something embroidered and embellished to daring pattering and prints.
I picked up this stunning cami top from Dorothy Perkins in the perfect colour for this season – plus it has ruffles which is also bang on trend right now too. As there was a sale on too, I managed to pick up this gorgeous rose gold double circle necklace to accentuate such a bold coloured top as well.
What is your favourite style for this season? Will you be braving the bold or perhaps you will join in the embroidery trend?
A huge thank you to inTU for hosting such a wonderful (as always) event and for the £20 gift card to pick up these new pieces which have both become firm favourites in my wardrobe rotation. Thank you also for the lunch at Handmade Burger Co!
