With a change of season comes a change in beauty. From tinted moisturiser to full coverage foundation, from nude lips to berry pouts, from blushed pinks to plum hues…heck, I even coloured my hair Auburn in honour of the occasion. Today we are going to be looking at my favourite shades of the season to wear on your nails. A freshly painted set of talons never fails to make me feel fabulous. I could be sat at home in my pyjamas, hair scraped into a top knot, make up free and typing away at my Mac Book, but with a glimpse of a pristine at-home mani at the keyboard I am instantly perked up. For me, Autumnal nails are all about the deep purples, berries and plums with the odd splash of a ravishing red or a pop of pumpkin inspired orange thrown in there for good measure.  Today I’m going to be talking you through my top three picks to pop on your nails at this time of year so without further ado, let’s get stuck in!

A definite fail-safe at this time of year, Essie’s Sole Mate is on my nail vanish menu year in, year out. As soon as September rolls around I find myself craving a coating or two of this stunning hue. Essie are probably my favourite nail brand with their ‘oh so cute’ product names and the huge array of colour choices. The formula and staying power of every bottle is amazing – easy to apply, long lasting and non-streaky. Sole Mate is a beautiful, deep plum shade that is perfect for this time of year. It looks classic and chic, goes with everything and just encapsulates Autumn to me.

I was recently invited to attend the launch of a brand new Kiko store for my blog, and it was there that I discovered another favourite to add to my Autumn nail wardrobe. Kiko’s Nail Lacquer in the shade Vermillion Red has a glossy, gel like finish, which makes it extremely durable and polished. A show stopping pillar box colour is ideal for those days you want to make an impact, and I love how it ties in with the beautiful colour palette nature provides this time of year. Kiko currently have a huge selection of their polishes on sale for £2.50 including this one so seriously ladies, get yourself down to a store and stock up!

Finally, I thought I would throw a bit of a fun shade into the mix, which is wholly appropriate for the fast approaching Halloween (or if you’re like me, any Autumnal day). I fell in love with Crabtree and Evelyn’s nail colour range about a year ago, and could often be found with the punchy shade Clementine painted onto my fingers. These polishes are so opaque – literally all it takes is one coat and you’re good to go. This vibrant orange is perfect for a pop of bright colour this season where I can mainly be found rocking the darker spectrum of beauty.
So, if you happen to see me throughout the coming months I will more than likely be sporting one of these beauties on my fingertips. Being a bit of a beauty junkie, I’m always on the look out for new pieces to add to my collection, so if you have a favourite polish you just can’t get enough of in Autumn, be sure to leave a recommendation in the comments section. And as ever, if you have enjoyed today’s post please do pop over to my blog for more beauty babble!

    1. You learn something new every day! I’m going to brush up my knowledge of Kingsday now. If you are looking for something a little different, perhaps you could substitute the orange for a mustard for a pop of colour perfect for autumn but without being too dark like a berry or plum colour? 🙂

      1. Before it was called ‘Queensday’ because we had a queen but since 3 years (I think) we have a king here. It is on April 27th and we celebrate our king, Willem-Alexander’s birthday! I will be looking for some great fall colors in my nailpolish stash. Thanks for the tips ♥

  1. I wanted to try Crabtree and Evelyn’s polishes but unfortunately, the store near me closed before I had the chance! The orange shade is perfect for Autumn! 🙂
