What’s In My Box | Birchbox April 2015
I love coming home to a box of goodies on my doorstep, especially when it’s my Birchbox! I couldn’t believe how quickly this one arrived compared to last time, I think I was one of thie first to receive it.
If you haven’t heard of Birchbox before, it is a monthly subscription box that is prepared especially for you based on your personal profile that you complete upon registration. Last month, I really felt like my box was tailored to me and this month, even more so which goes to show that they really do take into account your preferences. It contains 4-5 sample beauty products for you to try which is brilliant when you are a not ‘in the know’ when it comes to make-up! You can find out more on the Birchbox website.
This months theme is Royally Good as Royal Baby #2 is due soon so they created a blue box (baby boy) and a pink box (baby girl). It was luck of the draw as to which colour you got and luck did I get when I saw mine was pink! The pattern is beautiful too with the bird print, it looks quintessentially British.
So, what’s in my box?
A tube of Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish which came with a lovely Muslin was cloth and a little instruction leaflet. I have to say, after using this, my skin looked rejuvenated. I am eager to use the whole line of this range of after one use I can notice a difference. I love the wash cloth too. It’s great how it can be washed and re-used.
This month, subscribers were able to choose a special treat from Laura Mercier out of a mascara, an eyeliner or the Foundation Primer which took my fancy. I’m not overwhelmed with it really. Although a little bit goes a long way, I don’t like the watery texture and I feel it either takes a long time to dry enough to put anything on top or gets too sticky if you smooth it on too much. Sorry Laura, I’m sticking with Smashbox Photo Finish for now.
There was also a little tube of Pommade Divine – Natures Remedy Balm which is basically a BB cream and helps to smooth out any ‘problem’ areas. It smells lovely but I am yet to use it currently.
A bottle of Lola Barcelona Nail Polish graced Birchbox as an exclusive product this month, the range is beautiful. The colours are just like the variety of colours you would see in a Catalonian sunset. I’m going to be biased about this purely because it has Barcelona in the title! I’m looking forward to giving this vivid colour its debut in a few weeks on a big night out.
Then comes one of the best products I have ever received, literally, like ever. Percy & Reed – Smoothed, Sealed & Sensational Volumising No Oil Oil – wow that’s a mouthful. It is incredible stuff. There is going to be no hesitation to purchase the full size of this when I finish this little bottle. It actually works and says what it says it’s going to. I can finally have thick shiny voluminous hair thanks to this miracle ‘oil‘.
Last item in the box is a Warming Clay Mask by Befine. I really enjoyed using this. It was an unusual experience though when it started to heat up by itself while its was on my face! Its a prickly bearable heat and it smells gorgeous, like pomegranate which is one of the ingredients. My face looking glowing and felt so smooth and clean when I washed it off. I’m going to invest in a few off these and they are going to be my new weekly facial treat.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my box this month. I’d have been happy with just that Volumising Oil alone. I cannot believe I have to wait another month for my next one now though. I am loving Birchbox!
