A Personal Premiere | Birchbox March 2015

Ive been so excited all day as my first ever Birchbox was posted through my letter box 6 minutes after I left for work this morning! If you haven’t heard of Birchbox before, it’s is a subscription box which I have taken a monthly enrolment of costing just £12.95 per month. There were other options to choose from which makes the box per month cheaper for a 6 or 12 month subscription. You can sign up too here!

I opted to go for the slimbox which is such a great idea as it fits through your letterbox meaning no more trips to the sorting office or it being left outside if it’s raining!

So there it is, in all its colourful glory showing off its collaboration with Habitat & Benefit this month. Great for us customers as we were able to choose a trial size mascara from the 3 Benefit mascaras. BADGal Lash, They’re Real! and Roller Lash. I chose to go for the latest breakthrough mascara, Roller Lash, described as girly fluttery lashes, sounded right up my street!

The full size product is £17.50 which is a bit steep to buy without trialling first and I’ve always been interested in Benefit products so this is a great way to find out for myself what all the fuss is about. The box tells you it is Super-curling & Lifting so I am looking forward to trying this out and you can expect a review soon 😄

Also included is a perfume sample by Catherine Malandrino. I’d not heard of her before today but this has made me very intrigued about the rest of her range so I’m going to be googling later!  I already love the smell of this perfume and I think it’s going to be scribbled onto my birthday list! It’s a very sweet and strong smell with lemony hints. It seems like it will be one of those perfumes that will stay all day which is what you would expect at £50 for the full size bottle.

I am really excited about this Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum which is usually £45 for a tube! I am already a user of some Caudalie products however I have never been able to justify spending so much money on something I like the sound of in case it’s just like the rest. I’m really looking forward to seeing how this works and to see if it can tempt me to splash my cash on the bigger version! It claims it will leave the skin glowing and to use after cleansing but before moisturising so this will now feature in my weekly Lancome update!

I’ve seen a lot of reviews about this Philip Kingsley Elasticizer it seems to be quite the favourite among subscription boxes and my close friends. I’ve not used it myself so I’m looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about. It’s a pre-shampoo treatment that is said to restore the lost bounce to dry damaged hair. Seeing as I’ve just gone all ombré, it should be a treat for my blonde ends! Let’s hope it’s worth the £27.50 I’ll be spending if it works!

This is the product that made me feel like the box really was suited to my needs after filling in the About Me section on the website when I signed up. This Whish Lavender Body Butter was the deal sealer for me. I’m an absolute fiend for body butters so I can’t wait to add this one to my collection. I tested a bit on my hand and it smells divine, you can get the aroma of the lavender but it’s a fresh, sweet and very clean smelling scent. It is full of antioxidants too which I know is a major thing for people at the moment. At only £14.50 for a tub too, it’s on par with other competitors on the market.

Another couple of surprises at the bottom of the box including an extract from A Perfect Heritage which I’m looking forward to reading in the bath while I use all the products from my box! I like the fact it’s something a little bit different and unexpected. The full book is only £7.99 so let’s see if this draws me in enough.

There is also a really cute mini exclusive notebook with Here’s The Plan… printed on the front. This is going straight into my handbag ready for when I start my new role at work to right down my ideas and aspirations to climb the ladder.

There are some really handy cards in the box too which explain what each of the products are and how to use them. This month there is also 20% of Habitat and an intriguing little card about next months box.

My overall verdict is very positive. I cannot wait to try all of these products properly and provide more in depth reviews on them soon! I’m really happy with my box this month, I really feel like my personal profile was taken into consideration when the products were chosen. I am already looking forward to the next one 😍
